Focus on: Touch Bionics

TRI Cap investors in Touch Bionics Limited received a share of the £15 million sale of the leading global provider of innovative upper limb prostheses. The business was bought by Össur, headquartered in Iceland, for £27.5 million on a debt and cash free basis. The acquisition was financed through existing loan facilities.

Össur employs a staff of around 2,200 across 18 locations with extensive operations in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, with numerous distributors in other markets and was keen to branch into the upper limb prosthetics market. Touch Bionics has over 120 employees with operations in Scotland, Germany, and the United States. In 2015, total sales amounted to £15 million.
