Outerlight is a computer games development studio, designing and developing a range of games for use on personal computers and leading consoles.
The company's primary game product is "The Ship", for which the company has already created a highly acclaimed free, fully playable demo. The company is now producing a further full version of the game which will be distributed online from May 2006.
"The Ship" is cartoon in style, not graphically violent and has a broad appeal with a first person perspective and engrossing, unique game play. The game has won an award for originality, was featured in PC Gamer magazine with a full page rave review, and has widely been pegged as a game to watch by websites and magazines.
Outerlight, whose directors have a strong track record in development and marketing of computer games, had previously raised £500,000 of investment through business angels and Scottish Enterprise's Business Growth Fund and Co-Investment Fund. TRI Cap joined with other private investors to provide funding of £140,000, which was matched with co-investment funding from the public sector.
Summer 2010
Outerlight has completed its work on a new game which will be released in the Autumn 2010. The game has been developed on behalf of a major global distributor.
Spring 2009
Outerlight is working on a new game which will be released in summer ’09. The game is for PC and Xbox 360 and is for a major publisher.
