TRI Cap Golf Day 2008
Annual Golf Day a great success
The annual TRI Cap golf day was held on 19 September at The Roxburghe Golf Course and Hotel near Kelso and, as is the tradition, the competition was fierce. There were 18 participants, combining TRI Cap board and members, plus guests from such supporting organisations as MBM Commercial, SCIF, LINC, Scottish Enterprise and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Held on a fair day, the tournament format was a Stableford competition on handicap.
There were a large number of prizes: in the pairings, 1st were Andrew Sloan (SE) and Francis Hamilton, with second place taken by Carolyn Smith (Braveheart) and Rob Dick of TRI Cap, and 3rd by Joe Scott-Plummer and Laura Finlayson. Other prizes include the longest drive, which was won by Stuart Hendry (MBM), and for nearest the pin, won by Rob Dick.
Overall winner was Rob Dick, the runner-up was Laura Finlayson and 3rd was Andrew Sloan (both from Scottish Enterprise).
Many thanks are due to Walter Riddell-Carre for his excellent organisation of a very enjoyable day and for awarding the many prizes.
