2011 Golf Day

The TRI Cap Golf Day 2011 took place in a glorious autumn sunshine at the Hirsel Golf Club, Coldsteam with 16 players from TRI Cap plus guests from a range of organisations with whom we work including LINC, Scottish Enterprise, and from Borders based investee companies Syntropharma and Turnbull & Scott.

The winner of the aptly-named Chairman's Trophy was, once again, our Chairman Rob Dick with 35 points, just ahead of Walter Riddell-Carre, Paul Crookshanks of Scottish Enterprise Borders and Anne Featherstone of Scottish Enterprise.

Andrew Gardiner of Syntropharma had the distinction of winning the prize for the Longest Drive for the second year in a row, and Francis Hamilton was adjudged to have been ‘Nearest The Pin’. The Team Prize was won by Anne Featherstone, Jim Davidson, Francis Hamilton and Joe Scott Plummer.

The Hirsel proved a popular venue: the course is not too long but made demanding by the number of trees, which looked magnificent in their autumn colours. The difficulty of the course was mitigated to an extent by a generous allowance of ‘mulligans’.
